MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 14:12:48 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @aral Aye, but the risks of being 100% unable to run !FS on the platform (i.e. Apple) must surely be a worse strategic approach?
Of course I mean repurposing used hardware and not purchasing new Google-financing dung. -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 07:28:12 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @tom79 The atom feed you subscribe to via PuSH there is everything the !GNUsocial user publishes.
If you want to send something "upstream" we use "salmon", to where you can send your own notifications (like "hey, I subscribed to you!" or "you are mentioned in this notice"). -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 07:25:39 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @tom79 I'm not sure what you're asking really. Do you want to know the endpoints for subscribing to a !fediverse user on !GNUsocial? If you do a #WebFinger lookup you'll get this:
curl -s https://social.umeahackerspace.se/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se | json_pp
...
"href" : "https://social.umeahackerspace.se/api/statuses/user_timeline/2.atom",
"rel" : "http://schemas.google.com/g/2010#updates-from",
...
The Atom feed, just like an PubSubHubbub enabled feed, has metadata for the subscription endpoint:
curl -s https://social.umeahackerspace.se/api/statuses/user_timeline/2.atom | grep rel=.hub
<link href="https://social.umeahackerspace.se/main/push/hub" rel="hub"/>
To this hub you do the subscription dance for the feed URI (i.e. the Atom link from before): https://pubsubhubbub.github.io/PubSubHubbub/pubsubhubbub-core-0.4.html
The activitystreams signalling - please note that this is optional, that is something else. -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 05:00:57 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @tom79 Oh wait, you want to follow an entire instance? Well, you could always just subscribe to the https://social.umeahackerspace.se/main/public feed. I think maybe that's only notices and not activities in general and it's not served via PuSH natively. But a generic, separate PuSH service that's not tied into the core of GNU social code would be nice. -

MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 04:48:07 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @gargron Essentially, I'd like the /inbox to be browsable with exception to private stuff. -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 04:41:04 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @gargron I'm sad I can't find a feed for remote users' "mentions" so I can see that my notice has reached them and is in their inbox. Also to see what others write to that person. -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Sunday, 17-Feb-2019 04:34:30 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @aral What's your stance on reused hardware etc? I.e. when and where - if ever - do the benefits outweight the costs on Android vs. Apple?
I.e. repurposing Android phones by installing Google-free FLOSS vs. being unable to reuse Apple stuff at all, causing environmental hazards?
Do we support surveillance capitalism with environmentalism, or should we support Apple-like capitalism by wasting resources?
I'm asking in a constructive manner so please interpret it like that .) -

MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se)'s status on Monday, 11-Feb-2019 12:54:09 EST MMN-o ✅⃠ @grote I'm interested in providing polylines for routes in #Transportr, how should I do that? Recent commit messages don't reveal it despite 2.0.5 release saying "polylines for more networks". .]
I've been mapping and updating the OSM data for public transport v2 in Umeå, Sweden at least.
I can't join the conversation over on #GitHub. -
