@bthall @sikkdays @kai Yeah, I know what you mean... perhaps it is just a bit too technical. At the same time, I really appreciate that it's upfront about why it's different in an understandable way and doesn't just put up a list of arbitrary values/features.

@dartigen I would *generally* not advise a for pay course to learn how to program. There are enormous volumes of free material online for that.
If you want to do an Android app, I would focus on writing a command line edition in java on your desktop. When you can write tha with all features you want, it's time to look at the Android system, which adds scads of complexity out of the gate to just programming your logic.

I think what I like about notifications of app updates from F-Droid is that, behind that little notification is a whole cycle of ideas, discussion, coding, building, testing, packaging, releasing. It's a little reminder that a whole bunch of open source just took place somewhere.

@sikkdays A mixtape service would be really nice, and I have suspected for years that Pandora could pull off a personal mixtape generation service (different from what you're suggesting, but still cool).
I have a negative association with Spotify after years of coming across their playlist/album widgets on websites and being told "not so fast! You need an account to play these songs!" It's a quality growth hack, but suckering people into thinking it's a regular web streaming thing sucks. -

Marxists dislike people whose thoughts and behaviors are different from what their conditions supposedly *should* lead them to think or behave.
This leads them to be frustrated with the person who is perfectly content with living in squalor (which we tend to hear about) and the person who is discontented with living in some rich environment (which we tend to not hear about, directly; tirades against the greedy rich come close but are seldom tied back to the general principle). #philosophy
