@m @Keith I agree. There are ways to filter the instances your instance fedorates with (if you're admin), but that's a full time job in itself.

@Keith yeah, it is a lot to take in. I rarely look at it, and just stick to my personal timeline, as well as the Fosstodon timeline.

@mattmcnutt @brandon documentation is easier said than done most of the time. Whilst in the "fog of war" and running an incident, people aren't focused on documentation - their focus tends to be restoral.

Fact of the matter is, documentation is boring, so most people skip it. You're right though, it should be better.

Many of the apps available support multiple accounts.

So I started #Fosstodon around 6 months ago. Back then, I found myself looking at my personal timeline and the federated timeline most of the time.

However, this instance is starting to fill up with such interesting people, that 90% of my time is now spent on the Fosstodon local timeline.

Massive thanks to you all, and long may it continue. You bunch of bloody legends.

@DelusionalAI at the time writing, I was testing Nextcloud with owncube (3rd party hosting). I'm currently in the process of spinning up nextcloud on a Pi 3+ with SSD.

A dedicated server would be perfect for NC.
