@porus what a ridiculous rationale. So they think just because the internet is inherently insecure, we shouldn’t bother protecting ourselves? That’s like saying, “I wouldn’t survive being shot in the chest, so what’s the point in wearing body armour...” well, because it would massively reduce your risk of dying. Duh!

Always awesome when you receive an email from @hugo informing you that your #Mastodon instance is taking up too many resources and needs to be upgraded. Thanks to everyone who is helping #Fosstodon go from strength to strength!

@natanji the short answer is no, probably not. Most of the CVEs that relate to this vulnerability require physical access. Those that aren't require expert level attacks. Your run of the mill script kiddy has no chance here.

Unless you're being specifically targeted, there's a good chance that you're safe. However, if you're running any of the affected hardware, get the patches applied regardless.

@MooShoe yeah, that was my first port of call actually. For some reason though, Gnome Contacts would work in Mate.

@mattmcnutt @mike I don't need ActiveSync/exchange support. Just plain old IMAP with cal & carddav.

@mike yeah, there doesn't seem to be anything appropriate out there for Linux. For all Microsoft's issues, Outlook is an awesome piece of software.

@danyspin97 I've tried mailspring in the past, but I don't like the way you have to have an account for their service to use the app. That doesn't make sense to me.

Also, no address book/CardDAV support that I could find. :(

@calvin ahhhh apologies, misunderstanding on my part there (long day). Would be great if they added more functionality to Geary (or whatever they call it).

@calvin I thought they forked Geary and have been maintaining their own version?
