@jeremiah @js290 @xahlee hey now, i didn't say renting was any better :D it appreciates for the renter, especially if the maintenance and management costs are lower than the upkeep and taxes

@jeremiah @js290 @xahlee i'll agree with salatin on: don't be a homeowner unless you're prepared for the static and depreciating nature of the house.

@ada_33 @DaDenMan mmm.. upon further reflection, it sounds closer to "might is right" (strength is a quality of surviving?). could be a language barrier, though... but the implication of this minor detail is even funnier.

@PhoneBoy as a staple, grains are fine too for the same purpose. especially in combination with anything else that'll store. want to harvest as much as necessary from every possible piece of nature, after all.

@PhoneBoy to me, personally, meh. i have had game meat but it's still "eh." i prefer cheese and eggs. jerky is much better than steak, imo.
for long term functioning, especially during the winter, unless you can hibernate, you'll want that calorie-dense meat. or, i guess, nutrients.

@PhoneBoy no, it costs too much water, you see. because the barren wastes are so good at holding water. :P

@ada_33 @DaDenMan more to the point, i'm poking fun at him for sounding like a nazi.

@ada_33 don't get me wrong, i'm not describing the moral character of whomever has a stronger will... but this is the very character of "might makes right." when all is said and done, there's just two parties with a disagreement, and if it is so strong as to require physical intervention... well. whomever wins is right. it is one of the core parts of fascist philosophy. i'd hazard if you asked netanyahu, he might also agree that "freedom comes from strength."

@DaDenMan i guess, as they say, you really are your own worst enemy. how fascistic of them to think in terms of might.

@PhoneBoy i'd say the calories obtained from animals are more environmentally friendly (if the animals aren't force fed fodder, i mean) than just growing and eating the corn yourself.
