What's the deal with the flurry of engagement you randomly get that stops as soon as it began? Is that a sign that you ran out of clever things to say, or is there some kind of tidal current thing on the Internet where people arrive and depart in waves?

Flirtatious people are fun. The only problem is that you generally want them to stop being flirtatious at some point, and start to get serious, and if they're the flirtatious type, they don't tend to like that idea very much. Got burned on that with someone I used to date once. It was all very exciting and such until I found out that she was flirting with other guys *while* dating me...

@dr1ft I wish the Electron guys had taken a more React Native-like approach to it, though. Like, maybe take the V8 engine and hook it up to a virtual DOM.

@dr1ft I came from a C and Java background, and modern JavaScript is pretty much what taught me to code in a functional style. It became kind of hard to hate it after that.

Another controversial opinion I have is that school bells should say "rrrrrrrrinnnnnnnng" and not sound like an ice cream truck. There's a school in the area that recently swapped out their bell for a speaker that plays ice cream truck music, and it just sounds creepy to me. "Come, children. Follow the music..."
