@ghost A character clearly written to be blunt, in a comic written by a giant nerd who used to work for NASA, uses the term "autistic" to characterise another character's interests as narrow. The character who made the autism accusation gets the short end of the stick in the punchline. He's basically the bad guy who loses in the end, and his lines are so well written that you think they are the author's own opinion, when in fact the opposite is true.

My only objection to this comic: Remember Cambridge Analytica and the Zuckerberg hearings? Facebook usage increased after that. For the press, it was mainly a scoop. For the public, it was mainly entertainment. Only a tiny sliver of Facebook users actually cared enough to delete their accounts. Of that tiny sliver, only a microscopic film of people didn't restore it again later. All this privacy and open source stuff is still just a nerd turf war, I'm afraid.

Uh oh. They found microplastics in humans: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/22/microplastics-found-in-human-stools-for-the-first-time
8 people from Europe, Japan and Russia participated in a study of stool samples, and microplastics were found in all 8 samples.
More studies are needed, but I think this means that every living human and animal on Earth is full of microplastics...

@skypage There are foods you'd think would be easy to get outside of Norway or Scandinavia that are hard to find, mostly due to lack of demand, so it goes both ways.

@skypage I think it might be due to cultural differences and market conditions. Northern countries stick to staple foods that can be grown in the north.
For example, in southern Europe, wine is cheap and something you have for lunch. In northern Europe, it's expensive and for special occasions only. Beer is the more commonly consumed alcohol, and that difference has existed since at least the time of ancient Rome.

@skypage Yes, if you can get hold of it. Peanut oil would be considered somewhat exotic here in Northern Europe, since we mostly cook with soy, canola and sunflower oil, and occasionally olive oil if we are pretending to be Italian/Spanish/French.

Dark sweet chocolate of the kind used for baking or hot cocoa would probably yield the absolute best results. I managed to produce an interesting if somewhat bitter spread by using 70% dark chocolate.

Note: Palm oil, the oil used in Nutella, would probably yield the best consistency, but is hard to get hold of, and is considered unethical by some people. Me and the roommate had success with canola/sunflower oil. Any neutral oil should work.
As for types of nuts: We have tried peanuts and cashews and they both taste yummy. Nutella uses hazelnuts.
You will know that you've pulverised the nuts sufficiently when they turn into a paste that stick to the walls of the blender.

Nutella recipe:
- Chocolate bar
- Nuts
- Oil
- SaltPulverise chocolate in blender. Pulverise nuts in blender. Mix both in blender, add small amount of oil, blend until gooey and spreadable. Add small amount of salt for taste.
As a shortcut, or if you lack a blender, you can use a grater to pulverise a chocolate bar and mix it with peanut butter with a spoon.
Good if you're allergic to hazelnuts but crave Nutella.

I definitely have an obsessive personality. I don't obsess over entertainment like some people do, but I often obsess over other things. I don't think I'd be me if I didn't have that trait. I have this mental laser and when I focus it, it can get a bit overwhelming for other people.
