@jon_valdes A weird thing happened: when I plugged in a HDMI cable to debug what was going on (I couldn't connect with SSH), the noise stopped and they booted normally.

Two of my Raspberry Pis started making this high pitched noise (that goes up and down in pitch/volume rhythmically) when plugged in. Any ideas on how to make them not do that?

I've reserved a book from the library, and it's on the shelf in two places, yet I'm still in the queue. :blobupset:

@bvtsang That's a good point. I just get concerned about "value" since I get the feeling I should at least aim to make something that someone will enjoy/get some positive effects in their life from. And not in just blogging, publishing anything on the internet really.

But I suppose it would be healthy to not think about that too much when it comes to blogging, since as you said, it can be like journaling, where the point is to just be yourself. I think.

On one hand I'd like to write a blog, but on the other hand I'm not an expert in anything so I'm not sure how I could provide value in blog form.

Is there a genre of blogging that consists of asking questions?

Trying out Michabo, seems to work really well! The authorization step was really neat and easy.

@ben Didn't find one at least. I probably could've switched to just using doubles, but I incorporated the noise into the game, since it looks so interesting.

Intel's integrated gpus have some interesting looking floats. Found this bit on my laptop, and it's nowhere to be found on my desktop (with an nvidia gpu).

@Tryphon Myabe Ziggurat? It's certainly not realistic, dunno if it's minimalist enough though. Nice fps roguelike I like to drop in and play a few rounds of every now and then.

I can't believe it took me this long to find a good terminal emulator for Windows, but if you're in need of one, I just found out about https://cmder.net and it's great. It just works, and you can bind it to pop up / close with a hotkey.

The plot thickens! Turns out the end corridor looks different on my laptop compared to my desktop. This is definitely more in the feature rather than bug territory now. It's such a non-breaking bug that looks aesthetically pleasing.

tired: making a complicated generalized collision system to detect collisions in a windy corridor with no nice flat surfaces

wired: mapping all coordinates from the windy corridor to a straight one and then just doing simple collision checks on the resulting flat shapes

@jon_valdes No noise at all on purpose. I'm guessing it's floating point imprecision, but I'm going to have to admit that I don't have good enough a grasp of ray marching artifacts to know what else it could even be 😅
