I don't have enough knowledge around this to make any statement, sorry :)

@Wolf480pl @partial the difference is quantitative, not qualitative: corporations seek profit and will do all it takes to maximize regardless of what market they operate it, but there is a difference in what you can do when you control 20% of a market and when you control 95% of it...

@Wolf480pl @rysiek now we're talking :) of course it is. Bitcoin in particular is basically capitalism distilled. The initial promise of wealth and freedom is quickly forgotten as soon as big money enter the scene (in this case, fat Chinese pockets)

@Wolf480pl @partial IT is a nightmare, compared to other, older and more traditional markets. Imagine if you could only buy a car from two companies WORLDWIDE, or that you only had access to one main TV channel... That's some pretty Orwellian shit

@Wolf480pl @partial first thing that comes to my mind is pharmaceutical corps. The landscape there is way more complex than in IT and I can definitely see them defend anti-trust laws. NB. NB. Hardware/software markets are DEEPLY flawed as they revolve around de-facto monopolies or oligopolies.

Chip in a few bucks to help keep GEO going into the future. We've been documenting the worker co-op and solidarity economy movement for over 30 years, let's make sure we're around for another 30! Donations of up to $100 will be matched by F4DC until Dec. 31st:

The guy's poking a bomb with a stick... I hope this doesn't trigger something bad, but the odds of a violence escalation seem pretty high -

Modals should not be used on mobile devices. Better make it a page if possible. Otherwise, make it a 100% tall/wide overlay and prey for the best :) -

Wrong. Power grabs activate panic buttons all across the board. They would have failed spectacularly -

Not worth it. Lawyers cost a fortune and lawsuits are bad for reputation (see: Uber). Plus, intel got free access to all amd's patents for five years, which is a much better way to contain the risks of being "overthrown" if you ask me -

Because
1. You can't do things like that in a short time (look at how long it's taking Trump to repeal the ACA)
2. Why pay when you can just put up a screen? :) -

The whole point is that governments are not propping big corporations out of spite for small businesses, but it's the other way around: big corps use lobbying and the revolving door system to consistently inflitrate government and have things arranged in ways that benefit them and only them. Saying governments are to blame is to confuse the symptom with the illness -

Retard? You are the only one using this word. This is the second time in this thread actually, as you already said that about the left a few toots back. Also, that's ableist slur... -

False. Middle class was born in the medieval cities ("Stadtluft Macht Frei"). If you had the slightest knowledge of history you would know this. Incidentally, that's why it's called "bourgeoisie"... Middle class was there centuries before modern day capitalism. Your point is invalid.
