Just now I was wondering whether Mastodon Archive should tell me which of accounts I'm following are inactive, or haven't interacted with me, and how we'd determine that (looking at notifications, looking at their statuses), and whether I'd want to save notifications as well just so I don't have to download all of them the next time we look at the data.
@ajroach42 I have made it a point to bot install the apps and then I’m forced to use the website, and I changed the password and I’m finding that I’m too lazy to bring the password to work or to type it into the phone, so Facebook is slowly “fading” away from my life.
I am wondering about phone lock screens. Most people pick a nice photo or some family members. Also, it’s nice to know “this is your phone.” But for somebody finding a locked phone, for example at the office cafeteria, it’s an interesting question: there’s a bike and a forest. Whose phone is it? There’s two blond kids laughing. Whose phone is it? What a strange situation. I have to ask everybody: is this your phone?
@deshipu I really liked Denner's ad campaign a few years back: "we don't do customer loyalty cards, we just have lower prices for *everybody*." I guess nobody else was as impressed as I was, and I didn't start buying stuff at Denner's. So there's that.
@edavies@calvin I see that you keep notes on your site like I do when I run into problems. Haha, good to know and I'm always happy when I stumble upon somebody that had the exact same problem as I did.
@calvin I assume Chinese build quality and industrial design is bad? I don’t have an opinion about that because I think all the laptops are built in China these days? If you say the X200 is basically the equivalent of my current system it would work well as a second laptop, I guess. And I could move the PowerBook to Debian. You think I am mistaking faulting macOS for the incredibly slow login? I don’t remember that ever being a problem on Debian.
Listening to Fado again. Sometimes the melancholy mood strikes and I listen to sad Portuguese music. Here you can see Amalia Rodrigues sing it on YouTube, I guess. I’ve never been on Vagalume before but it was the first hit when I googled for the lyrics of the track that was playing on my old school 80G iPod. https://www.google.ch/amp/s/m.vagalume.com.br/amalia-rodrigues/libertacao.html.amp
Longe daqui, onde queiras, A vida será maior! Nem as esperanças do céu Me conseguem demover. Este amor é teu e meu, Só na Terra o queremos ter.
