@guizzy @sim @_p @realcaseyrollins If someone believed covid19 was the worst thing ever and never faulted, or something though it was totally fake and never changed their mind, neither can think critically. Most of us looked at things daily and weighed them.

This recent rage machine feels super reactionary; a generation of people taught to react with a πŸ‘ or emoji without thinking. "Silence is violence" is Double-speak; pushing people to react without thinking as a sign of virtue. This is insane

@scarly What shit places have you been working at? Everyone is saying software engineering is filled with a toxic culture. I've worked at over 10 different shops, in 3 countries, in everything from gov to education to telecom, et al. I've been at 2 shitty shops, toxic only because of the work hours. There are bad people here/there, but that's every place and every field. I know some people who have gone through shit, but at the same time, the majority haven't. "rampant toxicity" is a lot of FUD.

@SirBemrose Fuck man, they're kids. They don't care about ideology! Parents should just let them play with whatever. Kids don't have a stake in this world's bullshit yet.

@strypey I wrote about this very topic a while back, when CloudFlare decided to de-platform someone. I need to write an update as there is a Supreme Court case in the US which could change this for businesses. With Amazon/Google/Vultr/DigitalOcean being so large and the only big providers, if everyone denies your platform, you are effectively censored by corporations:

@paulfree14 @aral Interestingly enough, their fix for the Cambridge Analytica issue broke my own scripts and restricted developers from access to their own data via the API:

Furthermore, I think there was a deeper message with that entire #deletefacebook campaign, and the scary thing should be that it failed. Facebook proved to big media that no one gives a shit:
