Looking at the zoomed-out version in particular, it looks like each layer of leaves has twice the number of leaves of the previous. They just peel off to the sides so quickly you don't quite notice.
@Ranjit It's like... I replaced the normal abs(z) > 2 exit test - which is a circle shape, and makes the usual Mandelbrot steps - with abs(real) > 2 && abs(imaginary) > 2, which is a cross shape that goes to infinity. Somehow the fractal iterations turns the cross into leaf shapes? For some reason?
Resurrected some really old weird fractal code I'd created in the murky past, and converted it to GLSL, and added some animation. It's kind of relaxing:
@Skiriki@pzmyers My favourite thing about Finnish is that it has one gender-nonspecific pronoun for people, and one for animals and objects, and if you actually use the one for people about people you sound kind of stuck up.
I'm alarmed because it seems mob justice is causing more and more vulnerable people in the fediverse to shrink back to avoid becoming the next target, including, apparently, admins who I like and respect, and don't blame for being wary.
They're pulling some tired harmful shit, starting with targeting the same victims because it's easy and the already have the recipe, and it's working.
@ranjit The biggest strand of actual tomatoes broke off under the weight already so not much luck yet. Lots more on the way, just hoping for the excessively long summer to keep exceeding.
