I never was happy with not releasing source for Toot!, and wished I could find some way to do it without undermining myself.

And now all this gab drama is just ending up proving it was the right decision, and that is not making me very happy at all.

@major Well, that is exactly it. Gab is the home of lots of people who would want you dead. Why would you want to help them organise, gather and spread their hatred? They need to opposed at every single step, every single possibility, so they will never be in a position where they get to be a danger to you, or anyone else.

@major I've coded quite a lot of lines of code and I am blocking the shit out of gab.

Because I do actually believe in freedom of speech, and I know the far right will do all they can to utterly destroy it. They are doing it now, they will do it even more the longer they are allowed to spread their hatred, and they will do it in very, very violent ways. They ARE doing it in very, very violent ways.

And they are on gab.

Also, I must say I am not happy about my experiences with zeit.co for hosting. Recommendation: Avoid.
