I just found my old #fountainpen that I had as a teenager. it was not, as i thought, a pelikan. it is a senator pen and I'm trying to clean the old black ink residue out, that is proving to be a bit difficult.

yay I'm finished painting. that was 5 1/2 hours of painting and I became really absorbed into the thing, it was also a lot of fun. #kitschforever #lifebook2018 #mastoart

wow I just read on birbsite that it's centering images in tweets (to make thumbnails) not just arbitrarily. they have one of these infamous algorithms, supposed to automatically put the most relevant part of a picture in focus when creating thumbnails. which turns out, are white peoples' faces while black ppls faces are moved out of center.

#fountainpengeeks help: what do you do to keep all your fountain pens in the flow? I have 13 now and some need a little encouragement to get the ink to flow again after they were sitting in the box for days unused.

I'm writing an article about social media in 2017. I guess some of you have left birbsite for good. If some of you would care to give me short (and quoteable) statement "why" and "why mastodon is better", you'd make a journalist very happy.

Of course anon/pseudoymity is no problem. German prefered, but english is fine, re-toots are appriecated.
