Heads up, Tootdon users!

It has been discovered that Tootdon silently forwards copies of posts you interact as well as the auth token to your account to its to own servers.

Consider replacing it with an open-source Masto app like Mastalab or SubwayTooter.

Make sure you also revoke Tootdon from your Authorized Apps in Preferences.

What if instances could have community lists that are shared with the whole instance?

It'd make it possible to have something like a curated federated timeline.

An art instance, for example, could have a community list to showcase artists from across the fediverse to their instance's users, not just from their own instance with local.

I think it'd make it easier for folks to find things relevant to their particular community.

Nicer still, an instance could make it a default column and someone newly-joining would be immediately met with content that attracted them to that community and they'd be more likely to stay.

If I had had a big list of instances thrown at me instead of someone telling me about the cool furry instance they were on – :awoo: – and inviting me over, I don't think I would be here today.

I want to see more non-techy folks come to Mastodon.

I want folks to feel comfortable talking about their selves, lives, passions, and interests and not feel they shouldn't be here because they aren't "smart" or technical enough or understanding of "nerd culture."

On my list, I have:

– CWed boosts

– An option, in addition to the current "mark media sensitive" setting, that would allow someone to also mark boosts as sensitive.

– Making boosting ability a separate attribute from toot privacy.

– More options to control federation than the domain blacklist–this would allow communities to be able to consent to sexual content instead of being forced to react to it without relying on all instances to have roughly the same content (warning) policies.
