@xj9 Or "I'm ambivalent about my country" on Limewire
@cyberpotato @lain Hopefully that'll cut down on the cancerous hot takes I see in my stream.
I try to keep my mouth shut about it, but holy shit, it gets so bad sometimes.
Bad memes, bad hot takes, all shit from Twitter and Tumblr.
@jk I have so many teeth dreams. What always gets me is how real the sensation feels.
I almost always fall for it, and think "Oh no, that was an adult tooth, this is permanent and I need to wear dentures forever now."
@kaniini Heck, every toot could have a built-in tip jar.
@viciousviscosity LG Watch Sport. Overall, it's nice.
The watch itself is huge, and the bands can't be swapped out since they nest the antenna for cellular connectivity. The battery life is kind of meh.
The OS itself, though, is great enough that these shortcomings are rather minor for me.
It's not too surprising, but:
ANDROID WEAR IS INFINITELY BETTER THAN APPLE'S WATCHOS
@kai Actually, I hadn't heard of Gesell before. Definitely one to add to my very long list! 😛
@pixelguff I have the same problem. I am all appetite and impulse when it comes to food.
@zatnosk Perhaps I neglected to consider that.
@dt Yeah, I'm about to embark on Capital, which should provide more insight into his overall philosophy.
I'm sort of looking forward to it, but also dreading it.
@Melezh Having never read Marx before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Some bits were insightful, a few parts were actually funny, and other passages left me shaking my head in disagreement.
@strypey Nope. Been tried, doesn't work.
The whole idea of groups is that they act as relays across domains, and can contain users that aren't necessarily subscribed to one another. It's a hack, in the sense that a group is just a side-stream of label-designated posts and responses.
Federated tag systems are typically just an index for specific label terms that an instance has already collected, and typically relies on people already following one another and being connected.
@verius Is anyone working on new front-ends for GNU Social?
@strypey @zatnosk I wish they were. Groups are a great feature for discovery of content and users in federated systems.
Finished reading The Communist Manifesto.
It was an interesting read. 60% of the book makes for a compelling case. However, there are numerous moments where Marx makes a bizarre suggestion and goes completely off the rails.
Was not really a fan on the idea of destroying the family unit, or that the bourgeois men simply treat women as a vehicle for production and little else. The advocation of the State serving only as a superintendent for production was also strange.
@lain Having recently completed the entire TNG series: it is so fucking worth it.
Star Wars and Star Trek aliens having filthy hot sex while JJ Abrams nods in the foreground.
local timeline: crickets.
federated timeline: multicultural acid hotpot seizure orgasm.
