I do this exercise any time I feel like I'm similarly stuck:
- List all of my current projects
- List what status they are in
- Make notes about them (an elevator pitch, a slightly longer description)And then, as silly as this sounds, I read through the list and see what I would feel bad about not doing.
Anything that I want to do stays, anything I don't want to do goes on another list for me to re-consider at a later date.
I do it about once a month.

@jjg idea debt!
IME, taking the time to plan is helpful. -

@jjg It might be useful to at least start with an inventory if you don't already have one. Pick some things that are "close enough" to shippable state and just ship them, and pick a couple of other things to put on indefinite hold?
Starting over from scratch seems like a sure way to get back into the same position.

@jjg Triage your projects. What's essential and what can be shelved. -

I'm getting seriously overwhelmed by my project backlog.
I'm not sure if I should just drop everything and start with a clean slate, or try to reorganize or what, but right now I'm just thrashing between things in wait states and not really getting anywhere...

"My goal is to be able to help take care of folks when we do."
That's a really good goal.
Surviving on your own is pretty simple business. Surviving with a few more people isn't significantly harder.
It's preserving enough capacity to help others where things get complicated.

Personally, I find learning & preparing for less civilization fun, so even if it doesn’t become necessary, it’s better than watching T.V.
I kind of find the productization of being prepared to be weird. I mean, most of the modern off-grid/“prepper“ types I’ve met have less skill and situational awareness than a typical Boy Scout.

Studying "Unix philosophy" over the weekend and came to the realization that #forth systems might be the ultimate embodiment of this philosophy...🤔

Do you know how many projects I have been interested in that put out an electron app with promises of something better? And how many of those don't ever put out any better native apps? It's the same number. -

Cool.
I’m going to have to study the encryption mechanism most closely than I can right now. I like the idea, but if I’m not generating my own key, or the keys are held by someone other than the person generating them, the value of encryption is dubious.

@jjg @kurtm maybe (sadly) they do it because some companies aren't allowed to even buy them unless they're accessible? As in, they don't give a shit and that's why they don't do it in consumer-grade wares, because it's probably more expensive or whatever?
