    @mirzaba Unfortunately "don't be a fash-enabling shithead" is hard to put into a software license. It's certainly possible to write a license where you reserve the right to revoke it for anyone at any time for any reason. That would of course make the BDFL problem even worse. Maybe something where you assign the rights to a non-profit with appropriate takeover-resistant bylaws?

    I couldn't find anything on "CSL license", does it attempt to address this?

    10 years ago I started using ad blockers because I thought ads were annoying. Now I think that's the _least_ important reason to use them.

    @ferretsyndicate This depends on whether the person you're talking to lives in a social democratic country or not. Certainly in Sweden complaining about them is common in the left, but also almost everyone I talk to would be fine with the social democrats if they went back to reforming the system instead of the neoliberalism they've engaged in since Olof Palme died. And everyone agrees things are better than the capitalist hellhole that is the US.
