@zatnosk there are some hydroponics systems that are modular and can run off of LEDs. And some algae varieties are supposed to be doable like that.

Spirulina is supposed to be similar to soy in nutritional content (ignore all the stuff they say about superfoods and supplements, it is just a complete portion like soy) and because of how it grows is is simple to do at a variety of different scales.

@zatnosk one of the things about this that keeps bugging me is that because of my support structure growing up I can live in Paris and it doesn't cost me much more to live in one of the most expensive cities in the world than it did to live in Albuquerque, which is one of the cheapest places to live in the US (which is still kind of expensive by global standards).
If this year works out for me and I start having a real income than there is no reason that income couldn't support multiple people.

@zatnosk I think that maybe the best way to set it up would be a group that works together to ensure a basic income for all the members. So anyone who makes above the agreed upon amount contributes what they make to ensure that the others make enough.

I am sure there would have to be a lot of rules about membership and stuff and what people contribute.

@zatnosk yeah, that is true. I seem to have a very relaxed view of possessions so I need to remember other people aren't the same way.

@ekaitz_zarraga I need to work on that. I was supposed to have a media person who would work on that but they didn't work out.

So I guess I am going to try and work on that today.

@zatnosk I have some very vague ideas about linked communities around the world that act as a network of communes where you could go from one to the other and still be part of the same thing.

I want something like a mini version of that to start with because I know people who are geographically separated who would go for the idea if we could do it.

But I am stuck on the 'what does that mean?' part.

@zatnosk I am not sure. I want the physical thing too but working up to that hasn't been working out yet.

For the distributed version, something like pooled resources and stuff? But I don't know how it would work.
