So why don't we just give ALL of the money to the money-grubbers. Let them have all the USD, EUR, Bitcoin, etc. We may just be happier! And they may just die of depression or excess.
Of course we'll have to produce, gift, or trade amongst each other more...
I won't do it now due to me having bowling soon and I want more time, but today's the day I'll be leaving Twitter for good. I'll have my last tweet after I get back from bowling tonight.
In the meantime, I want to say I'm so glad I found Mastodon, and both Octodon and social.coop. I've found the communities here to be both more laid-back and something I feel like I fit in with more than I ever did on Twitter.
Hello, Does anyone know a good online private journal service/website which I can use to keep a record of my daily tasks and thoughts I want to preseve? It should have privacy options like encryption of journals content with a password or something. Thanks
TFW when you're trying to be a good co-operator, not wanting to hoard any power, so you hand over responsibility to whoever steps up, but it backfires on you and you just end up looking unreliable. π
I'm also hoping someone can contribute some code to #Mastodon to integrate the invite functionality into the API. That would help make our signup process much smoother and well integrated.
Found out there are RSS feeds from Loomio groups and subgroups, that show the publically viewable context posts that start threads (new conversations). You can visit the feed in a web browser by putting .xml on the end of the URL/website address. This is good for old devices or poor internet connections.
Any group can have private or publically viewable conversations, check this when posting stuff
You can reply to the email notifications via email & they get posted #socialcoop
I'm hoping we can upgrade to latest Mastodon to be able to make the switch soon. Trying to schedule a time with @vmatekole (I would usually just go ahead and upgrade, but I don't want to break anything, and @vmatekole has more knowledge about our new Docker setup).
IMO it would makes sense to start by using the invite system introduced in Mastodon 2.1.
To explain, unfortunately the cron script I had written to auto-create Mastodon accounts wasn't simple to port to our new containerised Docker Swarm based setup. @vmatekole has a script or method to manually create the accounts in the meantime (I added an API to our membership system to help with that) but I have no info about how to run it.
I'm actually surprised that a notoriously conservative company like #Nintendo came up with #Labo. DYI cardboard peripherals are _very_ easy to replicate without Nintendo's approval. For a company hell-bent on protecting it's IP, this is a fairly awkward step. A sign of the times?
I'm working on a draft proposal for converting our UK based online farm management collective into a not-for-profit open online co-operative society to promoting co-operative farm governance & more sustainable farming.
Schemes to 'incentive' people to 'do the right thing' are a cynical form of manipulation. If you can not trust in people's capacity to engage in dialogue to decide and choose 'to do the right thing' then why should anyone trust that your thing is 'the right thing' at all.
