Definitely! We've just been trying to figure out which instance to join. @Antanicus suggested we set up our own instance as a place for our budding community to congregate, which we think is a brilliant idea! But maybe we should just create an account somewhere in the meantime. Any suggestions?

I think a huge missing piece for the fediverse is the ability to use your own domain name as a canonical handle alias. Meaning that once someone follows me (i.e. my domain mayel.space which would currently be pointed to my handle @mayel), I would have the ability to switch instances at any time without loosing any followers.

I think Keybase is on to something with their audit trail approach, though we need a decentralised implementation.

I did say "membership-based association" meaning the power is should be in members' hands (which can delegate to a board).

Anyway, I'm more curious what you think of the project, in particular the Open Badges aspect.

(I guess the main difference is that HAHA has no concept of ownership, as everything it does will be libre).

I hope it didn't sound like I was bitching (though I was having a difficult day). I actually would like to be doing *more* with #SocialCoop but have felt a bit held back lately.

HAHA itself will be completely gratis and libre (#OpenAccess, #CreativeCommons, #OpenSource), and will focus on indexing and curating (and later producing) freely available #educational content.

Our mission is to empower humans of all ages to continuously follow our passions and curiosities, and become more enlightened individuals.
