@JigmeDatse I can understand "this makes no difference, why are you calling me a nazi" on a very small instance, but "don't over moderate" is sort of out of the "possibly not ok" end of things, and in the "not ok, period" one, effectively.

@JigmeDatse To clarify (because tbh, I forgot this was about them): they're not just horrible, they've been staging and training grounds for racist mass shooters.

I can understand being cautious of not wanting to fall into blanket condemnations and dogpiling and all of that, but "we actively incubate nazi murderers" and being completely ok with that is a fairly bright line, so to speak

i mean, who knows. their algorithm is busted, machine-generated kid's videos that spit out violent content (sort of like how "AI" writing does) get through their content filters. it's all sort of "too big to fail" in a lot of ways

someone did this breakdown of a YT celebrity, and how they went from gentle product plugs at the end of the video to ~ constant barrage of promotion for an endless number of products ~ the more popular they got

@kara_dreamer definitely. they twist it around into all of that, they do all the things that jay smooth talks about, or if they really just want to go "full monty", they'll start talking about reverse racism

which is patently absurd, but the entire conversation they're trying to have is exactly that

I'd add to this that there are conversations where you definitely do want to just call someone a racist (nazis, someone's abusive racist uncle who gets drunk every "thanks"giving and won't shut up no matter what people say, some random bigot on the street) -- but those aren't conversations as much as about warnings, or possibly, fighting.

In which case, it's not about discussion, it's about protecting yourself and others.
