@pixelpaperyarn last time I needed this kind of thing it ended up being mediawiki because it was the only wiki that normal people can halfway use so it was the best choice even though it is huge. was a few y ago, tho.

@bea honestly terminals should just have double buffering. I'm actually considering using the alternate screen as a back buffer. also other than the fact that the cursor is now permanently in the wrong position the forced flush control actually improves things markedly!

I monkeypatched stdout.flush to not flush so I could control flush timing but this ended up having the weirdest results

hey python friends I have a question. do you know if it is possible to force prompt-toolkit to use a soft cursor somehow? i.e. turn off system cursor entirely and just draw it yourself?
