Oh, thank you. So much this, and so concisely put.
@david_ross the only intuitive interface is the one you know already
"The Zenzeleni Networks project – Zenzeleni means “do it yourself” in isiXhosa, the Eastern Cape’s most prevalent language – is, as far as we’re aware, South Africa’s first and only Internet Service Provider (#ISP) that’s owned and run by a rural #cooperative. Just like any ISP, Zenzeleni installs and maintains telecommunications infrastructure and also sells telecommunications services like voice and data."
also a reminder that the way open source projects work, unless someone specifically decides to own a feature and contributes all the code for it, it doesn't happen.
things don't just start out good or become good by themselves. it takes work and collaboration and time and the effort of people who care. if mastodon isn't meeting a need of yours, don't give up on it. keep making your need known.
The greatest myth around this is that there is no gun control already, or that what gun rights people have don't depend on massive government protection.
All corporations exist under a scheme of limited liability effected and protected by government. Gun manufacturers & retailers, especially.
@Xkeeper uh if you haven't heard about Amsterdam. It's in Europe. Close to Germany. Lots of artificial channels and land. Lots of green (both kinds). The company itself is booking.com. Hotel reservations and the such. Not exactly glamorous but
09.52 train to London is cancelled. If I can get to Edinburgh can anyone put me up overnight? Really want to get to @Southwarkcathed by 16.15 tomorrow for UK première of one of my pieces.
GoL ftw
but then I'd say that wouldn't I?
ok, the mobile version this time
this piece in which Liza Daly researches the biography of an obscure 19th century writer is fascinating and beautiful 'I traced Anna’s family and friends backwards and forwards across a continent... and all their voices, all but one, are men’s. For all her faults, her “colossal ignorance” and her crackpot theories, she had a voice, one that she insisted be heard. Thanks to accidents of history and mass digitization, her voice has carried a hundred years forward.' https://medium.com/@liza/always-a-fan-of-the-marvelous-the-hidden-history-of-anna-adolph-8c0bc3888db4
IDK about anyone else but
I FUCKING LOVE FREECODECAMP
That aside.. they just dumped 3 years of chat #opendata on us. There are literally THOUSANDS of active users on there so this is pretty cool. It is.
Maybe this could be a resource for help debugging that thing?
got a bug report for a thing we tried to fix weeks ago, now with one tiny extra bit of information from the customer. I suspected the problem right after hearing this new info and after all day without access to the code, now sat to it and in 30 minutes the bug is fixed. Amazing how much difference the little details people deem unnecessary to even mention can make...
hey all! After having an account on mstdn.io (@dan) for awhile, I decided to try my hand at administering a new instance.
