@paradegrotesque I think some developers don't understand that five years might seem forever in their world, but in server land it's quite normal. Projects that stand resources up with no intenetion of keeping them stable are an absolute bane (hi Docker!).

@bobjonkman The conversation problem has been a thing for a while, at least for me. I wish it were easier to look at threads involving people I don't follow as I feel I'm missing out on interesting stuff.

@rysiek It's just not a thing here. Freight is a much bigger business. The rail network becomes very sparse outside of some big cities, most of which are in the NE.

@ron @pinkcathodecat @brennen @mwlucas @hairylarry @thinkmoult I didn't know about this, that's really useful. I still have my 'Absolute FreeBSD' paperback on my shelf at work from back in the day when I first started dabbling seriously.Â

Displays of celebrity grief usually make me go a big rubbery one, but Bourdain has really bugged me.
Not many people in this climate deliberately make a point of sitting down with people they have no understanding of. To some it's even apostasy. Bourdain made a second career out of it.

@strypey @lnxw48a1 I've found it's easier personally to just not engage on certain topics, having seen zero examples of anyone changing their minds through this medium.
