@keithzg Yes, that's it. PM went to some fancy doughnut shop. Manufactured outrage about spending too much taxpayer dollars vs Tim Hortons and, also, weirdly, at least one person complaining that he acted like a normal human and picked them up in person instead of using Skip the Dishes. (Sure, it was also a photo-op, but what a weird thing to complain about.)
@taweret@RexfordGTugwell Wait, really? I thought mute was just a way of temporary hiding someone's posts, like if I didn't want to see someone live tooting about a tech conference for 24 hours or whatever.
So the government has switched universities and colleges to a "performance-based funding model," which seems like a really great way to ensure the worse performing school continue to perform poorly (and maybe even get worse over time), due to a lack of resources.
I also fear they're going to institute this at the primary/secondary school level, along with making it easier to open charter schools. In essence, I think they're going to try to replicate a failed US model.
Semi related anyone tried a puri.sm or system 76 laptop? I think my next laptop is going to be a linux native lappy and these are the two I am looking at...
Exploring a theory that most Batman villains are anarchists and Batman is merely an extralegal defender of the status quo (the latter is almost undeniable, the former is the part I'm not certain about).
I stumbled upon something called the Villains Wiki and this is how they define anarchists: "Anarchists are Chaotic Evils who come in many forms ranging from nonviolent "hippie" movements to piratical antics of Extremists."
LOL...Hippies are Chaotic Evil? In what fictional universe?!
@bluestarultor Pretty sure he also loves the Ever Sacred Military, so the idea would never even cross his mind. But you're right, if he wanted to be honest about it, that's what he should do.
Arts and crafts time at my desk, as I re-glue feathers to the artwork my daughter gave me to take to work this morning. It held up pretty well in my backpack, except for a couple of the feathers. Once they dry, it'll be pinned to the ol' cubicle wall.
I give CBC a lot of shit for their silly "Life" section headlines, but this one is actually surprisingly sex positive and that's good (though I have't actually read the article): "Orgasm goals: how to talk to your partner about your sexual satisfaction."
There is an awful lot of corporate representation on the board of this "national, not for profit organization that advocates for 21st Century models of learning in education" http://c21canada.org/about-us/
I should point out the reason this is ironic is because I'm looking for a mouse for my Pinebook Pro, which is about as far from a Microsoft product as I can imagine (I'm pretty sure it would be incapable of running Windows even if I wanted to do so for some inexplicable reason).
Shopping around for an inexpensive wireless and/or bluetooth mouse and, ironically, it looks like a Microsoft mouse is the best balance between cost and quality.
