@lain Before moving to Suomi, I jammed all my shit into a series of hierarchically organised zip lock bags. E.g. a great big "capacitors" bag, which contains "electrolytic", "ceramic" and "poly" bags, which contain smaller bags based on capciatance ranges. Tried to squeeze as much air out of each bag as I could, ended up with a strained, bulging thing about the size of a large football. Thinking about just leaving it like that, tbh, rather than buying a set of tiny drawers or anything.

@lain Ugh, I'm so bad at this. I don't even buy the big assorted packs, I try to just buy what I need. But then I get in a situation where it's like "Oh, I need such-and-such a resistor. Do I have one of those squirreled away from an old project? I could go spend half an hour rummaging through junk piles, or I could just add ten of them to this order of other parts for a couple of cents". So I buy 10, use less than 10, put the rest in the junk pile and repeat.

If you had asked me in advance to guess how much time every day the hip and smart people dedicating their time and energy to building and promoting decentralised web technology for the sake of freedom and autonomy online would spend talking about fucking *emojis*, I probably would have guessed "roughly zero minutes". How wrong I would have been!

@lee Superia 400 has been my go-to for a while now. I have tried some of the trendy nice stuff from Kodak, like Portra and Ektar, and I did like the results, but I found the experience of actually shooting the stuff quite stressful because I couldn't stop worrying about "wasting the good stuff" or not making the most of it. Decided it was much easier to buy the cheap stuff, relax and shoot freely.
