@kothe Just a heads up, your circumlunar phlog gophermap is looking a little out of sorts at the moment. In between the correct menu items for the phone love/hate and the beige turbo posts, is one extra menu item which *says* it's for the beige turbo post, but actually links to the phone post.

@cosullivan I know exactly the problem you mean. Pine is automatically moving your messages from your mail spool (/mail/christyotwisty) to a separate file in your home directory, probably ~/mbox. In mutt, you can press 'c' to change to a new mailbox, then `?` to get a nice navigable listing where you can find that mbox file. If you open it, you should see all the messages that pine has "stolen". Let me know if this works, if so I'll email you further instructions on sorting all this out.

Read some mutt docs and organised the shit out of my SDF mailbox. Feels good!

@cosullivan I hope it's playing smoothly for you! aNONradio.net seems *very* slow tonight. My streaming connection seems to be holding out, but my own playback of the show is very choppy, and even the track metadata updating service is timing out a lot.

@kensanata I might try that tonight. When I first encountered the problem I got annoyed at how overly complicated the whole thing seemed for what it was, and dismissed it out of hand. But I may have to slog through it, the standard web app really is borderline unusable for me.

@kensanata I know it's blasphemy, but sometimes I like to look at pictures.

@ckeen I tried, it can't be run on Debian stable, at least not without more mucking around than I think the problem is worth. It requires some very recent Python stuff. Which is kind of ironic.

Discovered Firefox's "about:performance" page, confirmed what I already suspected: Mastodon webapp is the worst thing I use. Lightweight alternatives? For real computers, not phones. A good old fashioned desktop app would be best, but I would entertain a locally running webapp, especially if it used technologies more than a year or two old, which I've actually heard of. JS-free would be best, but I scarcely dare to dream. Can't run Brutaldon as no cutting edge Python on Deb stable. Help!
