    The friendly fire bit is an uncomfortable truth that a lot of people don't like to admit, but you can find a clear correlation between countries with this kind of attitude and "gun culture" prevalent, and friendly fire accidents.

    This is also why things like US military rifles are made as simple and sturdy as possible - they will be abused and misused by people who think they know guns because they played Call of Duty.

    That's a stereotype, but frankly, its an accurate one, which is why it sticks so much.  Youtube and other entertainment media are where their gun knowledge comes from, not combat experience.  And this is why you have US soldiers having so many friendly fire incidents.

    You can tell because they'll parrot talking points from military materials or things Ian and Karl have said, without any actual understanding of those points.  Why you do these things, when its acceptable to do or dont do certain things, etc.

    If there's one thing I've learned about online "gun culture" (and thats hardly just an American thing, as much as people make it out to be) - it's that a lot of people who like to talk about guns, haven't actually handled one.
