@postmesmeric I do think in a lot of ways after so long between records they knew they couldn't come back weak though, and they had to swing for the fences with their new stuff. They hit it out of the metaphorical park in my opinion, though.

It comes from the same sentiments as the oppression of Jews and homosexuals by the Nazi party, and its essentially the modern incarnation of that evil. And these kids are *desperate* to deny it.

A lot of the handwringing from these privileged German people, especially the trust fund kids, stems from a place of discomfort with Germanys treatment of other EU countries, and having a "are we the baddies?" moment. Unfortunately, rather than spurn them to create more equitable relationships, its simply caused them to become more aggressive, more authoritarian, and ultimately, uncomfortably, more fascist. This is why the have such a deep need to be seen fighting the Nazis. "Were not like them at all - we fight the bad people too!"

The scene where the band members are being hanged by uniformed Nazis for sedition probably strikes to close to home for the censorious government there, irrespective of the rest of the video.

Germany really doesn't like being reminded it was literally the Nazis. Especially when they start getting authoritarian again.

On the more amusing side, someone posted the law with every instance referring to the EU as perkele and this amused me greatly.

I frequent a couple unofficial watering holes for the Puolustusvoimat and the overwhelming sentiment to that law passing is that they (Finland) should leave the EU. I hope that they even could - many of their supposed allies would likely turn on them if they did, just look at Brexit. I doubt itd happen since the EU has their trade by the jugular.
