it seems as though I'm back on track on this exam prep, assuming all questions take an equal amount of time...which I know is a bad assumption but...

already I am getting massively different results. Is it the different poll questions, different time of day, or different framing? It's still really interesting that no one seems the fediverse needs fixing, which is in direct contradiction to what my facebook poll found. Still, results were very low on facebook.

"We currently have 1.7+ million files which apparently is nearing the max directory entry count." -- no idea what the limits are but, yeah, that's a lot of files.

the problem with listening to things like https://foreverlive.bandcamp.com/releases at work is that there isn't the wall of sound needed to block out the ping pong tables and people talking

most unintentionally hilarious sample? https://iselder.bandcamp.com/track/dechrau -- I dunno, made me laugh. If the dude were Norwegian, maybe I would not find it so funny.

@cwebber Have there been an MediaGoblin awards? Like, best Album hosted on MediaGoblin? Best documentary hosted on MediaGoblin? It might be interesting for the #CCMA to learn from anything like that.

Not that I have time to do it, but it would be kinda cool to have a fediverse music awards. All judges and musicians come from the fediverse.

Just thinking "outloud" about getting people to the fediverse.

Is there a place that offers mailing lists to CC projects? slack isn't working, and it's not just because of #freesoftware people. Non-tech people just don't use slack (unless forced and we aren't big enough yet to force people to do anything...and IRC would be a better choice anyway).

I don't know if Google Groups are still a thing, but if I can't find something relatively quickly, I guess I'll go looking to see if they are.

I don't know that there are really any decisions to be made. I guess rank choice would be easier, but ultimately, the question is which of those things do you see benefiting you the most. I would have thought fediverse would be the obvious thing for people to vote here. I guess probably people think development is the issue? I don't know. Maybe people just think the fediverse is great and doesn't need improvement. It's really hard to tell with just four votes, but I do still think the fact that all four votes are on Spanish is super-weird. I just don't know what to make of it.

What do people think I'm going to do with the Spanish in https://nu.federati.net/notice/927097 ? This is the perplexing thing. If Music Manumit dies, then I have lost most of the reason for learning Spanish. four votes isn't a lot, but it is interesting that no one thinks my work in the music community is worthwhile.

interesting. Your vote made it through, but my vote from @dawsports did not. Maybe something got fixed on one side or another

Regarding my love for https://abstractvoid.bandcamp.com/releases and https://potatohateexplosion.bandcamp.com/album/flowerviolence , it must be noted that I've loved borderline weird shit for a long time. Finntroll, for example. Bat shit crazy shit...not so much, but recognizeable, but off-the-wall shit...all about it.

and if you are asking about the company itself, well, there have been a lot of acquisitions: both us acquiring and us being acquired. We're not as loose on our support contracts as we were, but we still have the forums where anyone can get free support. There are some techs assigned to the forums to make sure answers are legit and to make sure people know we do care about the forums being viable.

@craigmaloney I'm still on the fence about this album as a whole (it's good, no doubt, but not sure how I feel about the programmed drums), but this one I think we should think about for TOTY: https://kosmogyr.bandcamp.com/track/frailty-2
