This is an interesting article about AI bias talking about what AI bias is, what can go wrong / right and what we can do about it

If you take a closer look at this picture of Jupiter you can find a cloud that looks like a dolphin
[Poll] Let's do a wisdom-of-the-crowd experiment.
If we were to choose a random answer among four, each of them would get ~25% of the votes.
But are we able to distribute our votes according to the percentages shown below? (If you can't see them, they are 5, 10, 25, and 60%.)
Don't cheat by using your alt accounts :blobamused: Boosts are welcome!
[ ] 5% [ ] 10% [ ] 25% [ ] 60%@HerraBRE I don’t know whether this is possible, but maybe you could build something like this with the iMessage Business Chat framework:
One thing that continues to impress me is how good smartphone cameras have become over the last years
Even the optical / digital image stabilization for videos isn’t that bad anymore
TIL that instead of having to type duckduckgo.com you can also use duck.com or ddg.gg
@ZenMondo After looking at some older photos of Jupiter I have to say that you’re absolutely right!
"This striking view of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot and turbulent southern hemisphere was captured by NASA’s Juno spacecraft as it performed a close pass of the gas giant planet.“

We had a hell of a thunderstorm come over yesterday evening, and afterwards right at sunset the rain was enough to give us a full double rainbow!

I've been low-key annoyed by the copyright rules around architecture in Iceland, since I was ... I dunno, 17? 18?
Basically, when I first heard that architects can veto changes to buildings they've designed, and routinely do so... I just can't even.
It's so ridiculous and bad.
My daily swim is at a pool where the architect made some really shit decisions, some of which are actually dangerous. People have gotten hurt already.
And the architect is vetoing improvements.

An interesting way to summarize the trade-off that comes with Brexit:
„By voting for Brexit, Britain chose autonomy over control.“
@JPEG Short update from my side:
"@you“ now shows the last 4 mentions and „activity“ seems to work again as well (approx. 15 entries / 4 days)
I have no recent DMs, so I can’t say whether this is working or not
mailbox.org unterstützt jetzt als erster E-Mail-Provider das denzentrale und offene Single-Sign-On System ID4me
Hab’s noch nicht probiert, aber der Ansatz ist zumindest interessant

@vfrmedia Happy birthday and all the best for your coming year!
@schlink We’ve already seen this with WhatsApp and it will always be a negative effect of moving towards E2EE messaging

For me the two main questions are:
- Are there ways to limit this abuse vector and is Facebook doing the best they can to find and implement them? (e.g. group size restrictions)
- In a world where we can’t escape trade-offs, is this still better than an imperfectly moderated global newsfeed that can be accessed and gamed by everyone?
@SlowRain After some quick research I think your description of them being an "over-earnest, angst-ridden guy who is trying very hard to be a social-media influencer“ explains quite a lot.
Looking at their shipping system I definetely have to agree that it’s far from ecologically friendly.
Probably a minor bug: after solving the captcha on the username / password page, the page for the Two-Factor Authentication code shows another captcha
