@JPEG Notifications work fine (I only use them for mentions). I just got one because of your toot and the one before was on March 17, 09:33 AM.

@unfa @alexbuzzbee the issue seems to be resolved now, so most probably it really just was a stupid mistake they didn’t know about before

The development of the 15 most valuable companies over the last 19 years offers some interesting insights:

    - demise of big tobacco (Marlboro)

    - Fast & strong growth of Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, …

    - some „older“ companies manage to be relatively strong over long time horizons (GE, Mercedes-Benz, …)

This is an interesting article about how kids feel and react when they realize that their parents / environment have put their life online without their consent

    Hello all!
I'm looking for some #UX warriors to test my little desktop app @sengi_app in order to get some early feedback.
All you need is a browser and tolerance to broken early alphas. 😶
You can find more info about Sengi here: https://medium.com/sengi-app
If you're interested, just @ me, i'll give you access to "the thing". 🙂

Was man immer im Hinterkopf behalten sollte, wenn man etwas produziert: Design ist nicht »ist hübsch« (oder eben nicht) und defintiv keine Geschmackssache, sondern hauptsächlich der Transport von Informationen.

@SlowRain In Germany this is the case for quite some time now. Shoes, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, ... are especially popular here. Having said that, since sneakers became a big thing in fashion the the amount of people wearing things by Adidas & Co has increased significantly.

What shocked me the most about this (now deleted) article by the European Commission about the copyright law debate is how it’s written:

Patronizing, propagandizing, picturing critics as a mob, not responding to criticism in a productive manner, ...

@js You’re right, the way I’ve phrased it isn’t 100% correct as both problems still aren’t fully solved (sorry, English isn’t my first language)

I’m 100% with you that the lack of a robust & intuitive read position mechanism is a downer, because like you I like Mast for many other reasons (functionality, design, open source, …)

Let’s hope that @JPEG will find a good solution soon. I’m quite sure that this then will also lead to some 5 star reviews as the rest of the app is excellent

TIL about the reasons behind the end of four-engined airplanes like the Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747

    1. Today engines are so powerful that an airplane can always reach an airport even if one of two engines fails

    2. Modern two-engined airplanes are much more efficient than four-engined airplanes

    3. Customers enjoy point-to-point instead of hub-and-spoke connections that are now possible with smaller two-engined airplanes

I still believe that covering your webcam is a good idea (just to be sure), but this is an interesting point:

"I have never understood the mass paranoia over laptop webcams — which have in-use indicator lights, which I’ve seen no evidence can be circumvented on Macs from the last decade — and the complete lack of similar paranoia over microphones, which cannot be blocked by a piece of tape and which have no in-use indicator lights.“

This is a good overview of Web Extensions from an extension vendor perspective, but I want to offer the perspective of a browser vendor. (thread)
