It was - funnily enough - similar to some famous-ish Twitter eCelebs that camped out on Masto but realised they would not get the attention or the fights here. Really, it is because they have not come to peace with the fact that they too are trolls.

@moonman @detectivehyde You don't need to do much to end up some list. My old Twitter account picked up a bunch of blocks purely because I'd followed Milo Yiannopoulis from his tech days from around 2009/10. I have a specific dislike of people not thinking for themselves and allowing others to curate their feed, and I absolutely think less of those people in my increasingly intolerant old age. There is no excuse for ignorance and stupidity.Â
The fediverse is not entirely safe from this kind of thinking, hence some of these Tumblr refugees coming over and screaming at people because their bios don't meet ISO woke standards.

I love certain corners of the Fediverse, but the collective stupidity of the tediously woke Masto instances is utterly dreary.
These people are toxic and a blight wherever they go.

@moonman @shpuld I think this is to do with the way people are taught now. They're thrown straight into a language and the curriculum is then taught at a steep learning curve; foundation skills are not considered important, only specific mastery of the assignment.

The cw culture on Masto is really difficult for me to understand. What started out as a tool, albeit one with a questionable purpose, is now used so much it's practically pointless.
Since when did putting a content warning for selfies and eye contact become a thing? Do these people not go outside or switch on their computers? This is so fucking odd.
