He's a hyper-patriotic vigilante & the kind of person who annoys the whole infosec sector by accusing them of treason for doing their job. I haven't seen any evidence that he's anything but a skiddie, aside from his big mouth.

He got some press for shitting on Snowden/Manning/etc. a few years ago.

Bad idea of the day: a curses-based translit (i.e., Xanadu-style hypertext) viewer that fetches resources only via Gopher.

    No, git isn't a smalltalk-style image.

I'm thinking of... ever used OpenCroquet? It's basically Alan Kay's Second Life. It operates by connecting the namespaces of several smalltalk images, and some of the objects correspond to 3d objects in 3d environment. And they send messages to each other.

A talk about supersonic airplanes, computers and how we can augment human capabilities with the use of computers. First presented at Voxxed Days Belgrade in September 2016.

2016-2017 is a particularly tough cookie for discordians & fellow travelers, because we were defeated with our own weapons and saw those weapons used toward ends we thought them inherently incompatible with. It was a big wakeup call for anybody who thought that culture jamming and (old-style) trolling would inevitably lead toward greater civil liberties even if wielded by authoritarians.

The message is: weapons don't care about the pure intentions of their wielders.

I was wondering why my recommendations were full of christmas music, and then I discovered that my youtube view history was full of stuff that I don't remember watching -- christmas music, pop music, and a lot of czeck-language stuff.

Then I realized that I failed to pause my youtube cast to chromecast of that Cyberpunk 2077 video three days ago and it's been playing the top recommendations for three days on a turned-off TV.

    (sigh)

Ok, secure chat things written in assembler. After the coolness factor of seeing curve25519 written in x86 it's also with considering that since so few folks understand programming at this level it would be incredibly easy to hide nefarious stuff within a codebase like this, and have a reasonable expectation that it wouldn't be found perhaps for a long time, if ever.

Makes me think of plan9's facility for mounting remote CPUs...

(I saw some mechanisms for distributing arbitrary operations over the net, about 10 years ago. For obvious reasons they were limited to non-turing-complete languages -- often implementation-specific. I think all the ones I saw then are dead now though.)
