@mdhughes (@squirrellilly tells me US ketchup is different then Canadian? I've not noticed that, I figured it was all made by the same giant companies. @DialMforMara have you noticed?)
Poll: Which explanation of how wizards & walkers use mana is the best:
1) Pre-revisionist: Wizards carry small tokens from lands they visit with them to serve as a conduit. Using mana from another plane is visible to other walkers.
2) Ice Age Trilogy: Memories form a connection to the land, and change is the source of mana.
3) Modern: Narrative convenience, mostly seem to draw from the plane you are on, kind of an ambient energy.
@mdhughes I mean, Kraft Dinner is pretty low-class food, but not uncommon for families to eat.
From what I can tell, most Americans version is terrible knock-off Kraft Dinner, and the cheese isn't as good, so that might be why?
We also call strip bacon 'bacon' but we call the other 'back bacon' since, as far as I know, there is nothing particularly Canadian about it...and we aren't a nation afraid to call MINE on stuff given half a chance (ex Alexander Graham Bell)
Does anyone have a good replacement for Extra Credits/Extra History/Etc? @DialMforMara is looking for replacements. YouTube shows are good, but podcasts are also fine.
(Not going into why so they I don't need a CW on this)
@dlek@varx I usually include it, even if they are similar, in case there is a client that displays one and not the other, or separates them in some way.
Does anyone have a good/easy way to convert PDFs to ePUB? Calibre is truly awful. I'm sure, if I played with the settings enough, it'd eventually work, but it's a nightmare to work with and I've never had it turn out good results.
@varx@dlek Yeah. hat is typically what I go for, but when it is a feel I'm going for 'Main and Commercial in #YVR. The street looks more sketchy then usual' doesn't quite cut the feeling, you know?
Doubly so if the toot text is the same as the image caption.
@dlek@varx@ratwithscarf I do my best, but hate it. I never know what to say, or how much detail it needs. Like, if I'm taking a photo of an object sure. But if I take a photo of a city street?
@fobo Hmm. You could check it out with a colourblind app. Do you use Android? I can recommend one that someone told me about. I'd suggest using italics/bold/underline/small caps/double underline for that, but there might be other ways.
