There should be a special digital punching bag or something to release aggression while talking to tech support that doesn't know that linux is an operating system and doesn't help with the actual problem.

@AliceWonder
Oh, that's a pain. No, it's just my actual .com web site, works on other networks, but not at home. I'll dig in later and see if I can debug it for serious. -

Somehow my own website is blocked on my network. I can't figure out why or how and it's making me crazy. I cleared the cache, and refreshed the DNS and whatnot. Blar. Just whining here.

Ha! Okay, we have played MTG, so I've made it up to the universe.

I meant wrapping paper, not wall paper. Bler. -

I'm curious about your laptop styles. Everyone, take a picture of your laptop lid and share. Are you a sticker person or not? Boost like crazy

@tomasino
I put patterned wallpaper under my semi-transparent laptop cover, along with my groovy GNU sticker. Hardly anyone pays attention to it, but I love it. -

My husband got us Magic the Gathering play mats, but now I'm just using mine as a mouse pad.

Sweet! Now I have new ones to try. I like the idea of a self-hosted web based reader.

I'm using Liferea right now, although I have used QuiteRSS too. Always on the lookout for the perfectest one... Do you have a favorite?

RSS Readers are the best.
In case you wondered what I thought about that.

@MereLinuxMortal @BigDaddyLinux
Well I grew up in the corn fields next to the river, but now I live near proper forests and they are very homey. Especially since there isn't any poison ivy here, unlike the woods back home. So I think a treehouse overlooking a river would be the ultimate perfect thing.

Sweet. If we're getting serious about details, I'm very torn between a treehouse and a houseboat. The Ewok village was my dream when I was 10... -

Totally! I hope we're learning some lessons as humans... And yes. Weird houses for all. :)

I deleted my github account. It didn't have much on it, but I'm cranky about companies consolidating and gobbling each other up into one giant frankenmegacorp.
I want the internet to be a network of villages with weird yurts and converted school buses, not a few highrises each with a zillion sterile apartments. It's a silly metaphor, but you know what I mean.

If like everybody or every family ran their own nextcloud server the internet would be a much cooler place.

@kelbot dial-up accounts used to come with a little web hosting, some email addresses, a news account, maybe ftp...providing (and actively supporting) a home-based nextcloud appliance for customers would really differentiate an ISP, if any of them cared

I don't have anything useful to add, but you're inspiring me to try a similar set up! Sounds so clean and speedy and nice...
