Just spotted that kiwifarms et al are going wild foaming at the mouth at me with all the slurs they can manage but I'd missed it because they're all blocked already. It's almost as though deplatforming works towards creating nicer spaces 🤷 Enjoy screaming into the void I guess sweeties x
@humanbattery As most social media currency is built around the idea of gathering approvals, yeah, I'd say it's a pretty significant change from what we've seen.
Of course, you have those moments when you run into something that you can't quite place and ha, does NOT like you at all, but even this isn't that bad in comparison to the experience of exploring the unknown.
But I think that's the beauty of the game. The process of trying to feel comfortable in an environment where you start of completely vulnerable.
It's an arduous process b/c you have to keep pushing the limit to survive.
Subnautica is an absolutely gorgeous exploration game. The creatures, the biomes, the various environments, the way the sun hits the water while you're swimming around is straight up beautiful.
It gets more so when one dives in to the depths and one sees what sunlight never touches.
It's breathtaking and terrifying.
I find myself fighting my fear of water to push forward a bit more and I'm *always* rewarded.
I kinda feel like it's helping my confront one of my deepest fears.
When I was a kid, I used to love the beach. There's just something about the sand, the heat and the sound of waves crashing that used to always put me at peace.
Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience once where I bumped my head while swimming to the bottom once and I lost my bearings, and it took me awhile to find the surface. This put a deep fear of water in me that I still struggle with.
Playing Subnautica is bringing all of that to the surface.
Tackling a quadruple amputee is bad enough but the sheer anger and hostility he shows a disabled person that cannot defend themselves speaks to the general hatred cops specifically have for Black bodies.
This isn't about keeping people safe. This is about further dehumanizing an already traumatized teenager for the sake of brutality, anger and violence.
This is why I hate police. They are not here to help us.
