In attempt to get speaker video feed I also borrowed Blackmagic Shuttle USB 3.0 from a friend, and turns out that the drivers are available in linux, software is available for linux, but those two things don't talk to each other for the USB 3.0 model (things should work fine for thunderbolt).

Still this is a pitfall of proprietary software under linux -- there's no guarantee it would be supported.

The experiment of capturing speaker slides using $15 HDMI capture card ended in utter failure -- the card scales down 1080p signal to composite (500x700px) and everything looks bad.

I want to try out EZCap 261M, I like this particular model because it has MIC in port. or EZCap 261 which seems to be more popular. These cards cost about $90 CAD.

@oliof I would go though recalibration once in a while when print quality deteriorates, but I haven't used Delta printers, so I don't know.

I left a comment there explaining why it's a bad idea, hopefully I wasn't too harsh.

@oliof Even if you have sensor leveled bed you still need to adjust the reference point before sensor does the leveling.

Home all the axis with G28
Put a piece of paper on the bed then run G0Z0 to verify that the distance between bed and nozzle is correct.
If you need to re-adjust the probe, use this command to G28Z; to re-home Z axis.

@oliof That usually happens when print bed goes out of alignment, try re-aligning the nozzle with a sheet of paper

I've been listening to Dan Carlin's podcasts for a while, and he has trouble talking about the current situation in the US.

Listening to this episode I get this feeling that he's comfortable talking about pre-WWII Japan as making an analogy to what's going on now -- nationalism, populism, political violence, and breakdown of the institutions that led to the catastrophe.

I guess one serious post I will make is this: there is a real movement to threaten, endanger, and literally kill journalists for doing their jobs. The tactics (doxing, stalking, calls for doxing and stalking, death threats, lies or misleading statements in order to stir people up) are replicable and are being replicated. This is now part of the job description. It shouldn’t have to be. The only allies we have are members of the public who can discern and call out dishonesty.
