@distelfliege What do you have on hand? And do you want protein or is that unimportant? Cause I can make some recommendations for a very delicious version.
Boost if CWs actually make you more inclined to read things than to skip over them because of a default self-preservation setting you’ve adapted to navigate life.
Movement to replace the appropriative “is my spirit animal” and the super dorky Harry Potter reference “is my patronus” with “is my mech.” All in favor, just boost.
@Sparrow If New York Januaries weren't so horrifyingly cold, I would say that they're screwing themselves, but... well... we almost always have like 3 weeks of absolute nightmare weather here, so I think they're hip to what they're doing.
@SuzanEraslan It is staggering and terrible how much product advertising is based on creating insecurity in a person/group of people then exploiting it for monetary gain
If a human being did that to another human being it would be called out for being emotional abuse
@ryusei And gaslighting! The information that they hand out is just straight up LIES, proven by multiple scientific studies.
I'm trying to find an article that's not full of other weight loss tips that references a study that completely refutes Coca Cola's claim that you can drink all the soda you want and just exercise to lose weight (because, uh, you can't), but they are straight up LYING to people!
"So why, then, are we so deeply invested in treatments that not only fail to do what they’re supposed to—make people thinner and healthier—but often actively makes people fatter, sicker, and more miserable?"
SPOILER: Because it's profitable to make everyone hate their body! $$$$$

The Weight of the Evidence It’s time to stop telling fat people to become thin.
"Studies... repeatedly find the lowest mortality rates among people whose body mass index puts them in the “overweight” and 'mildly obese' categories. And recent research suggests that losing weight doesn’t actually improve health biomarkers such as blood pressure, fasting glucose, or triglyceride levels for most people."

The Weight of the Evidence It’s time to stop telling fat people to become thin.
"One of the principles driving the $61 billion weight-loss industries is the notion that fat is inherently unhealthy and that it’s better, health-wise, to be thin, no matter what you have to do to get there. But a growing body of research is beginning to question this paradigm."

The Weight of the Evidence It’s time to stop telling fat people to become thin.
"97 percent of dieters regain everything they lost and then some within three years. Obesity research fails to reflect this truth because it rarely follows people for more than 18 months. This makes most weight-loss studies disingenuous at best and downright deceptive at worst."

As the diet industry is (finally) taking a hit for how unhealthy and ineffective it really is, companies and brands are fighting back by repackaging their products as health food.
@cryptovexillologist I know exactly what you mean. I always feel like I *was* in the Inner Circle and then got left behind, even though I always leave the Inner Circle because I feel like I don't really fit there or I'm not really a part of it, even while I am. (I'm bad at believing I belong.)
