@fabianhjr social.coop is pretty cool and it looks like OpenCollective does most of what I was thinking about, without the cryptocoin stuff. it's great that y'all are here btw :)

@fabianhjr it would, but the problem is that nobody ever does just pay for web content, social.coop aside. and yeah, this would suck on mobiles if you keep it running... what the original use case was is that you just run it for some amount of time to pay for what you want and then stop. still not ideal.

@fabianhjr it is, the idea behind this is that you wouldn't need to know anything or set anything up to get started. this probably is one of those ideas that can really only work for places with a lot of traffic. better than ads at least imo

@xj9 yeah. there probably won't be any real return until you get huge traffic doing this. may as well just get people to send monero to the wallet address this thing would also have, if you're too small. but then you really put up high barriers to entry

@lain you are, but you also don't need to bother with having a wallet or dealing with paypal/square/whatever. it feels like you're doing nothing, and that's kind of what it comes down to

@xj9 or it could probably be used on multiple smaller nodes or sites, if they agree to pool that. i'm envisioning a pretty flexible system
