@benediktg 4. Go to https://gnusocial.de/<username>/subscriptions and unfollow accounts. 5. Frequently re-post your migration message/post at GNUSocial.de, so the ones following you will see it in their timeline. They can (and should) unfollow you once they follow the new account. 6. Revoke your authentications done in https://gnusocial.de/settings/oauthconnections. This just feels good… 7. At the last day or so (May 31) you may delete your old account at https://gnusocial.de/settings/profile (on the right).
An HOW-TO on how to migrate your account away from !gnusocialde:
1. Go to https://github.com/benediktg/gnu-social-export (thx @benediktg), clone repo, follow instructions to run commands. 2. You get a following_accounts.csv file. Go to your new (Mastodon) instance (<instance-domain>/settings/import) and import the follower list. Verify that the followers were imported. 3. Change your avatar/bio/username at GNUSocial so one sees this account is inactive. Point to your new account there. AFAIk mentioning yourself in a qveet (@username@newinstance) works in a good way, too.
@nipos @kuketzblog @kuketzblog Yes, already following. I more or less automatically made that mentions. Could be that I missed some, which already migrated.
AFAIK you are still on GNUSocial.de and I'd like to still follow you when GNUSocial is shut down. So if you have an account on a new instance, please let me know. #GNUSocialDeMigration
Hi, members of my !threema group. As GNUSocial.de is unfortunately shutting down, this group will be lost. As I switch to Mastodon I also cannot keep this group anymore.
So what to do? 1. Anyone at GNUSocial.de: You have to migrate away, anyway. 2. You can follow me personally at https://social.wiuwiu.de/@rugk. I'll of course also tuut about #Threema. 3. You can also pin hashtags on Mastodon to stay up-to-date and follow all the whole hashtag.
@jomo Well… maybe the Captcha has been blocked by some browser (antitracking) add-on/setting or so. May be possible, but already requiring that stupid data there is bad.
I finally gave it up. The FLOSS projects then just don't deserve it, if they can't use a not so horrible source code hoster. I am sorry, but that's just ridiculous.
(https://neocities.org/ z.B.) hosten.
