Very social and cooperative day so far! Had a meeting with our co-op's bookkeeper, from the bookkeepers' co-op, then saw @StephR in passing, then had lunch with @jjg !

@richdecibels I took another look. Everything they tout, I can do through gitit (including press-ready PDFs), and for free, with 100% of the royalties.

I didn't see anything new in their business model. What am I missing?

@jjg @Antanicus @h If I might jump in... It seems to me that the co-op movement has always had a sense of this, as described in Principle Six, "Cooperation among cooperatives." Let's not reinvent the wheel.

@richdecibels Interesting stuff. I was on Leanpub for a while, but I do more translating than writing, and they insisted the original authors had to sign up as well, so I gave up. Now I'm looking at gitit as an alternative, with voluntary sponsors paying me through Liberapay.

Sooo... a co-op developer job was just announced locally. Giving it serious thought.

@h @djsundog True story: the only thing I've stolen, ever, is a poster that said "Don't copy that floppy."

I signed my co-op up for @mayfirst this morning! Another step towards building the solidarity economy.
