I want a VPN server I can park in a small office so that I can connect into the LAN from a remote location. Any favorites? (*Can* build my own, but off the shelf would be lovely.)

@dpreacher Your welcome! What I was basically saying is assume the best from what I'm saying. I trust that you know what you're doing, so my questions are a mix of curiosity and brainstorming. I wouldn't be telling you "you're doing it wrong". 🙂

@dpreacher I'd leave the system alone because who knows what all that's used for. I think that should work:

$ mkdir /tmp/override
$ touch /tmp/override/xmlrpclib.py
$ PYTHONPATH=/tmp/override python
>>> import httplib
>>> import xmlrpclib
>>> httplib.__file__
'/usr/local/Cellar/python/2.7.14/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/httplib.pyc'
>>> xmlrpclib.__file__
'/tmp/override/xmlrpclib.py'

So only xmlrpclib gets replaced - other system files are untouched.
