@Triplefox the only immediate downside that comes to mind would be random access into large files being expensive, but that’s pretty rare (scrolling, mostly) and solvable with a skip list or something
Curious what you’ve found the goldilocks length to be

@djsumdog @dosnostalgic I’ve bounced off the original Quest for Glory a couple of times (so grindy!) but I’m willing to give a later iteration a shot

@zensaiyuki clojure short-circuits equality if the references are the same, but because NaN != NaN, when comparing by value [NaN] != [NaN]

Building a little toy language interpreter in Rust, and Rust is making me Ask Questions About NaN.
Fun Clojure behaviour:
(let [x [Double/NaN]] (= x x)) => true
(= [Double/NaN] [Double/NaN]) => false(it works this way in CLJS too)
Is that... reasonable? -

@dubsteppenwolf yep, that was my trigger to wipe the Twitter app from my phone back in June

I’ve uploaded the extremely rare Mac version of Cookie’s Bustle to the Internet Archive! Thanks so much to @jkap, @KateLibC, @SpindleyQ, @shadsy and an anonymous hero for helping raise money for this. https://archive.org/details/cookies_bustle_mac

@polychrome @dosnostalgic The last time he responded to an email from me was in 2013, but I can certainly try. Lots of other Neural Storm folks are pretty findable online too.

@polychrome @dosnostalgic Glad you found it interesting! At the time, I wasn't really asking questions with the goal of it making a coherent story that would make sense to anyone, I just really wanted to find out how the sausage was really made, and see if he could get me in touch with any of the Union Logic guys (he couldn't)

Radix: Beyond the Void is one of those highly invested 90's DOS games that never made it and fell into obscurity.
I've just found this interview with one of the creators who was involved with Epic MegaGames (now days Epic Games) and it gives an interesting view on the 90's PC game industry from the view of a small-time player:
