Find out if you have a local #LUG, a !Linux Users Group. In #Waterloo Region we have a great LUG, @KWLUG@sn.jonkman.ca, as well as completely separate groups for #KWNPSA ( #NonProfit #SysAdmin), #KWVoIP (a #VoIP Users Group), different user groups for just about every programming language (and three for #Javascript alone). All are warm and friendly -- I know, 'cos I've been to most. But start by finding a local Linux User Group, where people can point you in as many directions as you're willing to go.

Even if you did not have money or couldn’t make presents for those you love remember that the fundamental part of Christmas is being together with the ones you love.
If you have neither of those two you're really out of luck.

How about 'listeners' for twitter; after all, the 'tweet' is an auditory allusion.

> Would it change the social psychology of social media if we replaced the terms "follow" and "followers" in the UI with "listen" and "listeners", or "read" and "readers", or some other set of terms with a less ... well ... culty ring to them?
@strypey Do you mean… subscribers? That's what it's called in GNU social anyway.

Winter Holiday Celebration, Part I is ended; am back home. Familygave Hubby and me a new iMac, specs unknown. In the interest of maintaining harmoney, I have not demanded the machine's return and exchange for something of equal or lesser value. This makes me feel a little weak and cowardly. I know he'll want to get the thing online asap, or close enough; surprised he hasn't unboxed the thing, yet. He's been using Ubuntu Mate for a while, but not happily. Anyway, during this intermission, we've some cooking and baking to do. Celebration Part II is scheduled for Tuesday, #gravmas In other news, something I consumed, yesterday, and I are in in dramatic disagreement.
