"The @sim Manifesto:
Our current system of government and society has fallen from greatness. Great British civilization is not the bastion of Western freedom and progress that it once was. Therefore it is imperative that we restore the old three pillars of our Golden Era traditions: feudalism, absolute monarchy, and censorship. The modern industrial world has failed us, so we should return to the system of landed gentry and serfs that supported our greatest period in history. This is feudalism. Disobedience and disrespect toward the Crown has shown that the current system of limited constitutional monarchy is hazardous and fragile. Thus, absolute monarchy is a necessity. Dangerous ideas such as women's rights, democracy, and freedom of information are eroding at the foundation of our society, and must be suppressed. This is censorship. Together we shall prevail. Together, we shall make Medievalism great again!"

@moonman Aha. Although most of my stories remain incomplete, alas.
-
I have a hard time writing short stories because I just want to expand on them. :')
-
@rye Ahh... I don't really know the situation so I can't comment further I guess. Pissed off at myself, tbh.
-
@dokidoki Eh... I'll be doing other things tomorrow. Pissed off at myself today.
-
@dokidoki Cleaning the bathroom... although I'm considering postponing it now. See how we go...
-
@dokidoki I guess not that extreme!
-
I'm going to have back-aching fun tomorrow!
-
@roko This is my take on it. Divorce/separation is a last resort when there is abuse in the marriage and sometimes you really don't see it coming because people can change when married. Abuse is not healthy for anyone involved in the family.
But generally, I want to be in a marriage where divorce/separation isn't an option... because marriage is for life.
-
If I have a partner and raise a kid, divorce or separation shouldn't really be on the table unless there's abuse.
It's an ugly thing to talk about but it happens and no one should be compelled to stay in a relationship or place where their rights are violated.
Exceptionally distasteful that someone would treat their partner like that but it happens!
-
It would be cool to discuss writing with people more.
-
When it comes to marriage, we have never had it better in some ways. We still have a way to go... as I know it isn't a great deal for men when they look at the risks for them but how women have it better now. It used to be worse for women.
It used to be worse for both because marriage was more of a contract between two families for resources and connections. The fathers got the final say, and could pimp their children out for marriage.
These days, marriage has a romantic element to it. We like to marry for love, rather than familial obligations to the family for resources and connections. This gives us much more room for choice because the parents can no longer prevent marriage, you don't need the blessing of the father.
Rather than viewing marriage in a negative light, I'd rather look at it from this lens... in finding someone that you are compatible with, that you share a love with and are willing to work through things together. Especially if you want to settle down and start a family together. You can be more certain before deciding to tie the knot. The choice is in your hands... so choose wisely. In doing so, the negatives never end up on the table. Just as it wouldn't for women in the past.

DLC is a mistake.
-
When you keep expanding the amount of forbidden topics that can't be spoken about in a conversation or the contexts... what is there left to talk about?
-
@yata Happy birthday! Hope your day is filled with what you want it to be!
-
I don't know about you guys, but I did not need a technical explanation to understand how the fediverse works. I don't need to be technically minded. The great thing about it is that it just works, and you can see that happen as you go along. You can notice there are different instances, and that you can connect with them from where you are. You can see how some of them look and operate differently, and work out that there are differences there and that they have different names too.
Just stay a while... and you will pick it up. If you want something more in depth then people on the fediverse will answer questions you have or talk about it without any prompting.
-
@takeshitakenji Goodnight! I don't think I'll be around then so I'll say... farewell! I wish you the best in life... take care. Thank you for keeping us company when you did, and for the bots, the in-jokes and all the fun memories. Don't feel like you have to be a stranger... you know where to find us if you just want to talk.
-
@1iceloops123 @moonman Me too. All we had to complain about was swedish programming. I miss those days.
-
When you block instances, the loss is really yours... because you will be missing out on getting to know people here. In what the fediverse has to offer.
Isolate yourself with strict rules too far and you only have yourself to blame when you end up lonely.
