@detectivehyde @ihavebigtits I just see downplaying with modesty as destructive. Better to be honest than to downplay or overplay something. Although in my case, I wasn't sure what you meant by heroic pain.
-
@clacke Indeed... at least until a qvitter FE can be created for elsewhere. I need the option to be here either way.
-
@detectivehyde Maybe! If I can complete a novel.
-
@detectivehyde @ihavebigtits I worry that I might be overbearing. I am a wounded soul that needs a lot of care and time.
-
@rye @detectivehyde Yes, I love the craft of writing more. Also, proud of your hobbies! Like the drawings and singing.
-
@detectivehyde @ihavebigtits Haha. Well, I suppose, one aspect of what many people consider to be a hero is to be modest. Although I don't like the idea of downplaying too much.
-
@ihavebigtits @detectivehyde Yes, I take things slow and steady so that I can cope better and think things over. If I rush things then I feel more pain. If I try to do too much then I feel pain. Our thresholds may also be different here.
-
@lemonhead When I am out and they are around, then yes. Recently, I get to look out for them more! It is nice.
-
@detectivehyde I think I will keep trying to create but I don't think I'll make it a career. I'll keep it as a hobby for now, and it is something no one can take from me.
-
@ihavebigtits @detectivehyde I guess I'm not sure if I should call it beautiful. But it has a bittersweetness to it.
Understandable. I think I'm leaning more towards slowing down... giving myself the time and space to rest and heal. To find comfort. I need that the most with inner pain.
-
@detectivehyde @ihavebigtits I'm not sure about heroic. I am mostly speaking of the pain that I know. Pain that exists in the soul, that reacts to the circumstances around... when we feel pain, it is a sign. A message that tells us we need to protect ourselves, that we need time to rest and heal. When we lose all hope and when we lose who we are, pain reminds us that we are alive. That we still exist, that our heart yet beats.
Perhaps even boredom is a call to take action. That the circumstances don't satisfy us, that it doesn't hold our interest and we need to move on. But sometimes boredom is how we feel when our feelings are too much, and we will get bored while numbing ourselves. Perhaps emotions aren't the enemy, but the messenger.
-
@mangeurdenuage I don't know who that is.
-
@epsiloco Mhm. Pain also reminds us to rest and heal. Very important when we've overdone things, and we all have our own threshold.
-
@eidolon0 @detectivehyde Aha... who knew?
-
@detectivehyde I'm thinking about my inspirations, and being a mother is my inspiration. One of many.
One of my hobbies is stories, and I like to write when the inspiration takes hold... but I don't think I could make it a career. I don't think I want that. But I do like to write. To explore whole worlds in my head, and to watch characters developing and overcoming their obstacles and pain. It feels liberating for my soul to write about. But the fame that comes with publishing doesn't inspire me, and the thought of having to appease the writing industry repulses me. Losing my privacy is no good. The money would be useful and that is about it. My heart is in the writing and characters.
-
@eidolon0 @detectivehyde Aha... does it have weed or dragons?
-
Pain drives us ever-forwards.
-
@eidolon0 @detectivehyde Ahh... I don't know that one so well.
-
@eidolon0 @detectivehyde What do you mean?
-
@ihavebigtits @detectivehyde I want to say beautiful but I'm not sure it encapsulates inner pain. Pain can be a reminder that we're still alive, that we've been wounded and need to protect and heal ourselves. Pain shapes us in ways we don't realise until it has happened. My pain suffers and yet yearns for more from life. It carefully guards me. That might seem odd but pain is the reaction we have when we've been wounded in body, mind, heart and soul.
