    @vimal Did you check out something?

    How is TheDesk? Does someone has a screenshot? Which one is the most user friendly? I'd like to find a good desktop client...

    @kelbot I thought so first too. But thinking about it: That e-ink screen was too small for an e-reader. Otherwise I cannot think of many thing why it sould've been useful.

    I've been getting acquainted with #GitLab after listening to the latest episode of FLOSS Weekly. My jaw is on the floor. I can't believe I hadn't tried it before. So many options... And the fact that you can self host it is invaluable. #GitHub is way too centralized. #GitLab looks like a better option.

    @vimal I asked this question once but I'm afraid there is no GUI yet. I hope there'll be one soon.

    @hund That looks really great. I did not know dzen before (for notifications?).
    I read a post about gentoo. http://fsckin.com/2007/08/24/back-to-the-future-again/ I think it's kind of funny. But I'm not sure if that description is true.

    @hund I really like it if someone uses a hooktube link instead of youtube. Just feels a bit better (less tracking) and much more user friendly.

    @cameron Yeah, #metoo.

    Haha.

    Actually the best way to learn about the internet is trying to figure out how to avoid g*(evil).

    And when I say "avoid" - I mean everywhere!

    So you learn about search engines like qwant, startpage.com or searx.me, secure e-mail providers like tutanota, protonmail or mailfence, cloud storage via Nextcloud, video sharing via peertube or goblinrefuge, openstreetmap, Sailfish instead of Android, browsers like Pale Moon or Cyberfox... - and so on and so forth...

    @cameron If you are not logged into your account anyway, you could also use hooktube.

    Probably you got those ads, because g* messed up something with their tracking... (no tracking on hooktube).
