@Elizafox@CobaltVelvet That, or the entire universe is a simulation and it wasn't necessary to render anything outside of our solar system. At least until we pay for the DLC.
Using the modern web doesn't feel empowering. It feels immensely frustrating.
The web is barely usable without ad-blocking. Pages take an age to load and the content jumps around as more ads download and display. Also the ads are spying on you.
The entire JS ecosystem is dependency hell and sometimes you have to download massive JS files just to view a web page. The JS is probably also spying on you.
Worse still, JS is also probably why the Back button doesn't work properly on so many sites.
@theoutrider Sloppy Joe's are one of those things that seemed to be everywhere in the US when I was a kid, but it's been a long time since I've seen or heard of someone eating one.
Also, there was a specific brand of Sloppy Joe called "Manwich"
@balrogboogie Let me know if anyone gives you any info. I would actually love not to store _any_ remote images from other people's servers, if it's at all possible.
It's either apps just not launching, working fine for a while and then just not launching, or taking forever to launch. (I have a modern 4c/8t laptop, so it's not a hardware problem.)
I am less than impressed with the "snap store" in the linux world. I run the most common linux distro, in the most common long-term-support version. I have had to uninstall the "snap" versions of certain apps and install the older gtk versions several times.
@theoutrider In full agreement on the first Resident Evil movie. I've never played any of the games (I've never even watched anyone play any of the games), and I found the first movie interesting. I was able to follow what was going on, and I didn't feel like I was missing large parts of a story.
Plus, it was kinda cool. Whoever made that movie did a good job.
@Siphonay@staticsafe Had this same problem after I upgraded to 18.04 too. I didn't have to rebuild ruby (I think), but I did have to reinstall all gems.
@lonko@aral Yes, more information about this please! :D I just now discovered Tilix, and I'm always interested in new terminal programs. Why is it your program of choice?
@staticsafe I have a love/hate relationship with the games that came out of this group/studio. I LOVED Shadow of Chernobyl. But Metro 2033 was so hard I felt like the game actively hated me.
@thunfisch Are you US-based? I would recommend Cricket Wireless. Even after you reach your 2GB data cap on their $30/month, they only throttle you to 128Kbps.
